“It takes a little time to create a gap between the witness & the mind. Once the gap is there, you are in for a great surprise — that you are not the mind, that you are the witness, a watcher. And this process of watching is the very alchemy of real religion, because as you become more & more deeply rooted in witnessing, thoughts start disappearing. You are, but the mind is utterly empty. That’s the moment of enlightenment. That is the moment that you become for the first time an unconditioned, sane, really free human being.”
— OSHO

Born in the city, raised in the woods, alive in the Pacific, I have aimed to travel the directions in order to develop my eyes, (re)adjust my perspective & take a few steps back.

Color, pattern, light, texture & viewpoint bring out the natural vividness of people, places & the uncanny moments of their confluence.

Analog photography provides limitless tools for expression that convey truth without dismissing fantasy. It is concerned with more than the visual & lends itself to magic in both the process & product.

Cross-cultural methods for & the art of communication bring themselves to my attention, particularly in the form of maps & language-based mental templates. Evolution — the ways in which it is happening before our eyes & the instinctual grounds behind human action — interests me in how it can serve to understand, develop & forgive the human collective.

I am fascinated & overwhelmed by the human element. I am humbled by the physical world.

The people & places I photograph are rarely random or unknown to me. I am focused on getting on with my own sort of education. I will always have a lot of catching up to do.
